We all have platelets in our blood. And PRP therapy is the use of a concentration of your own platelets to treat and relieve pain.
- Accelerates repair of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints
- Promotes development of new blood vessels in the healing process
- Uses each individual patient’s natural healing system to initiate tissue regeneration
Venous blood is obtained in the clinic from a patient, centrifuged immediately, and the PRP portion (serum and platelet “fractions”) is obtained. PRP is then injected into the affected areas with ultrasound guidance to ensure a high level of accuracy.
There are close to 30 higher level clinical studies providing supportive evidence for this technique in Knee Osteoarthritis alone.
